Symptoms of Age Related Macular Degeneration. Macular Degeneration is a disease, which affects the central vision of the eye. It prevents the sufferer from being able to recognize faces or anything else that enters the central viewing range of the eyes. Individuals who are suffering from age macular degeneration usually maintain their peripheral sight giving them the limited ability to see. There are a number of symptoms that are associated with Macular Degeneration.
The first thing to understand is the fact that there are two different types of macular degeneration. These types are dry and wet. They may also be referred to as nonexudative and exudative and the causes of these two different types are different though the resulting vision loss is the same.
