Here is an interesting article from Vermont Travel The Texas Travel Industry Association (TTIA) announced today that Texas Comptroller Susan Combs will receive the associations 2010 Silver Spur Award. The Silver Spur is awarded to public officials who have shown exemplary service to the state and the travel and tourism industry. Comptroller Combs has been a long-time advocate of travel and tourism issues that have been critical to our industry and to Texas, said David Dunham, chair of TTIAs Legislative Affairs Committee. Her leadership in highlighting and championing the fiscal impact of state tourism has been instrumental in helping Texas maintain its position as a top domestic and international travel destination.
